The iconic white-base color is back in the new away kit for the first time since the 2019–20 campaign, and it serves as the kit’s defining feature. The distinctive lion pattern from the home kit is present again on the away kit, however this time it is encircled by four turquoise stripes.

The Nike Chelsea FC 2022-2023 away kit is primarily white with four teal hoops that have the same pattern as the collar of the home shirt, sharing the same colors and theme.

The new away uniform pays tribute to Ted Drake, one of the most significant figures in the club’s history, continuing a theme started with this season’s Nike home jersey.

The visionary former Chelsea manager will be best remembered for leading us to the team’s first-ever top-flight league championship in 1955. He did this by making shrewd signings, as opposed to the previous when risky big-name signings were made.
